You can run macros in Google Sheets, as long as they’re written in Google Apps Script, a JavaScript-based language built into Google Apps.
Access Google Sheets with a free Google account (for personal use) or G Suite account (for business use). Deploy Backup and Sync in your organization to synchronize local files to Drive on the web, making them available on all your devices. Make sure to allow Backup and Sync and specify whether users can see Backup and Sync download links. You can also use Google Update (Windows) or Google Software Update (Mac. Create, edit and collaborate with others on spreadsheets from your Android phone or tablet with the Google Sheets app. With Sheets, you can: - Create new spreadsheets or edit existing files - Share spreadsheets and collaborate in the same spreadsheet at the same time. - Work anywhere, anytime - even offline - Add and respond to comments.
You cannot directly run Excel macros in Google Sheets, however. You can rewrite the scripts in Google Apps Script, something Going GAS author Bruce McPherson has written tutorials about on his site: From VBA to Google Apps Script.

I can't be in a document for more then 30 seconds before it freezes and I have to force the app to close and reopen it. But then it just does it again.
